- So, here it is. A set of !TCPIP sources and the tools to create diff files
- and apply them back to the source.
-
- 1. *Don't* work on the sources in TCPIP_Ref, make a working copy.
- The file "MakeWork" will do this for you.
-
- 2. If you want to send me some diffs, check with me first to make sure you
- are up to date. I've had a lot of 'fun' over the past week merging three
- differing versions to create what you see here, and I really don't want
- to keep doing it.
-
- 3. Please use the versions of GDiff, Indent and Patch supplied. They may
- not be the latest, but they appear to work for me. Especially, make
- sure Indent sees my version of indent/pro. You may want to create your
- own to mangle things to your preferred style when working but I want
- things in my style for the reference. :-)
-
- I'm going to try running a simple manual mailing list for this. Mail me as
- tcpiplist@kernow.demon.co.uk to join or leave. I'll return a diffs file to
- get you up to the current state of play, then regular updates as they happen.
- Every so often I'll upload an archive of patches to Demon and when there is
- concensus I'll up the version number and create a new set of references.
-
- To create a diff file for me, run 'DoDiff'. This assumes the trees TCPIP_Ref
- and TCPIP_Wrk exist in the same directory, it cleans TCPIP_Wrk, applies
- Indent to it (I'm not happy with this bit as it messes with the time stamps,
- but it works) and runs GDiff across the tree. Mail the diff file and any new
- files you have created to the address it tells you (tcpipsrc@kernow.demon.co.
- uk) and I'll do things with it.
- *PLEASE MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WORKS RELIABLY BEFORE SENDING IT TO ME*
-
- Umm, that's it for now. I hope to make things more automagic as it goes, but
- this should get things off the ground.
